It was a gamble which didnt pay off...Bernard is a master boxer and likewise he will retire with no shame in losing to Roy Jones Jr...Kelly can still dominate middleweight and with time will hopefully mix in some skills and ringmanship to go with his proven power...

Hopkins was two weights above his "optimum" division also as you so eloquently stated.

True, and Bernard has had the boxing ability to be number 1 in more than one division, whether Kelly can do this is doubtful but not impossible with experience and better guidance...

No two ways about it...Hopkins is in another league from Kelly and as time goes by, we are seeing fewer and fewer genuinely classy boxers...

Hopefully Kelly can learn from fighting one of the masters...
