Nobody is hating on Donaire, I'm still a fan of his but I don't see him fairing well with the likes of Gamboa/Rigondeaux or even Juanma for that matter after watching his technique (or lack there of) against Vazquez, and that's pretty much the general consensus right here in the boxing community right now

anytime any of the top 10 p4p fighters doesn't dominate every second of a fight people hate. it happened to Pac, it happened to Martinez against Barker, it happened to donaire.
Marquez wasn't expected to beat Pacquiao, Barker wasn't expected to give a good account of himself defensively like he did against Martinez, Vazquez wasn't expected to beat Donaire's face to a pulp like he did and last 12 rounds. All three fights have something in common and it is that they were cherrypicked opponent. When a cherry picked opponent does good against you, being a top 10 P4P fighter, you're gonna get crapped on rightfully so.

And Chavez didn't get any hate because its been long accepted that the dude is protected. He's just now starting to fight real boxers after 40 something odd professional fights so people are genuinely amazed when he beats someone that isn't a part-time cab driver. He is supposed to get killed once he faces a real champion at his weight class. Donaire on the other hand is supposed to be ruling the lower weight divisions.

Honestly, I'm not gonna lie. Here I was thinking that all the haters seeing the blood on his wraps would scream, "PLASTERRR!!!" because according to so many people, bloodied wraps = plaster. But since I said that... Waiting for accusations to be thrown in... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
That being said, Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. is a tough tough fighter and one of the top guys at 122lb, so no shame in not finishing him. It's not like the fight was all that close either, Vasquez was game and hung in there, but honestly... 115-112 Vasquez? C'mon!! Donaire took that fight, easy!! He didn't blast through him like he did to Montiel, but it is what it is. Styles make fights, maybe he finds it hard to finish Vasquez, but blasts through Arce or something. It's boxing, anything can happen at any time.Last edited by Left2theliver; 02-05-2012, 05:50 PM.
