Carl Froch believes his explosive sparring sessions with fellow Englishman Tony Bellew ahead of next week's IBF title defence against Yusaf Mack could prove to be tougher than the fight itself.

The Nottingham super-middleweight regularly trades blows with his fiery compatriot in training and despite their friendship, the pair are unashamedly spiteful inside the ring.

Froch, 35, also benefits from his connections with the Team GB set-up due to trainer Rob McCracken's role as performance director in Sheffield and regularly spars with the cream of the country's amateur talent.

Bellew will come on no end with this level of sparring you'd imagine.

Sounds like good sparring. It's important to go against a veteran like Bellew but working with the young guys coming up can keep one fresh too.

Well, you know what I mean. Bellew has experience as a pro which is a contrast to the other 2 guys who are amateur stars.

True, but Bellew has only been a pro for 5 years and has only had one fight above Domestic level.
