He did a ton of following Lara, threw a lot of wide hooks, threw very infrequent single shots while eating Lara's jab and straight left, and consistently let Lara dictate and get off first for the first half of the fight. The only things he did right was constantly bringing some pressure and he focused a decent bit with his single shots on Lara's body which ultimately wore Lara down in the 2nd half to where he was more running than punching, but it was hardly a revelation of a performance from Canelo. He lights up brawlers, but he's nowhere near as dynamic against boxer-type fighters. Fortunately for him, Khan, while fast, is nowhere near as good defensively as the other boxer-types he's fought, plus Khan has little power at Welterweight, much less 155.
You're missing the point. He handled an evasive guy who is bigger, more rugged, and more skilled than Kahn. Whether he did it perfectly is beyond the point. No one has ever looked good against him. But, Canelo did manage cut the ring off and catch him while he was moving and that's quite a progression for him. If he did that to Lara, you can be damn sure he'll do it to Kahn.

And, unrelated, this goofy notion that people have about Khan being too fast for Canelo to time. Quit thinking of Kahn as Mayweather. Khan has been timed by plenty of guys. His ring IQ isn't high enough to avoid it. He's a wiry little guy and his nerves often get to him. When He feels Canelo's concussive power, watch him get nervous as start making horrible decisions.

If Khan throws any more than a 1-2 combo he will be in front of canelo too long and will be ko'd
I agree. He cannot afford to stay in the pocket too long throwing high volumes of combination punches or he will run the risk of getting clipped, hurt or even dropped as in the Prescott and Garcia's fights.

He needs to get off first by shortening up his combination punches to a maximum of three and then circle out of harms way by using his superior foot speed to evade Saul Alvarez's slow footwork and counter punching ability.

He'll probably fade even quicker than he usually does with that extra weight; at which point his ass is grass.

It's been so many years that we've all been talking about how Khan needs to keep his punches at a minimum, even if he did that he can't do anything with Canelo because as I've been saying, he stands too straight up, pulls straight back.

It's over, Khan doesn't have a shot here.

Lara is no where near as elusive as Amir Khan. You said that Canelo had the ability of cutting off the ring against him but that is not saying much because even the flat-footed Alfredo Angulo was able to cut off the ring against Erislandy while dropping him twice in the process as well.

So it shouldn't come as no surprise that Alvarez was able to do the same thing. Trust me, Lara is not that hard to find.

Also, Lara has a very low punch output as compared to Khan. In addition, he is not nearly as fast as Khan when it comes to hand and foot speed. Just check out his fight agaibst Carlos Molina in which he won a very hotly and disputed decision.

Lastly, when Amir decides to box he is virtually unbeatable. It's only when he gets reckless and foolhardy that he gets himself into trouble.

In a nutshell, Khan just needs to stay out of the exchanges. He just needs to dart in and dart out. For the exception of the Lamont Peterson fight, each time he has gone the full 12 round distance and finished the fight on his feet he has won. Therefore, history suggests, that if he isn't stopped or if the fight goes the whole 12 rounds.Chances are he's going to win the decision; Due to his defense and speed.

LOL @ Khan being elusive. Khan's defense is terrible.

Khan doesn't have the defense or ring IQ to do what Floyd did.

Khan is going to get HIT, this is boxing! Canelo get in some shots vs Lara and Mayweather so he is going to catch Khan eventually. I would give Khan more of a chance if he had a Inside Game because staying on his backfoot for 12 Rounds is going to be difficult. Khan stamina is also very shaky, I've see Khan slow down as early as the 5th Round after a Fast Start and then he starts back up against the Robes and starts to get hit more and more

He better figure out an inside game, he better get stronger so he can clinch to disrupt Canelo because it is going to take all of that and more for him to pull this one off

See, none of what your saying makes any sense. Lara is better at getting from one area to another than Khan, he does so in a faster manner and can maintain his balance while doing so. It's not so much because of foot speed, it's footwork.

Lara also transitions back to defense better than Khan, his defense may be limited but he at least does that a lot better than Khan and Lara's shell is no where near as easy to penetrate. This is why Canelo struggled heavily to land head shots against Lara. On the other hand, why ignore all the times that Khan went into a shell and still ate all sorts of head shots? All against Peterson, Garcia, Maidana, Julio Diaz and the list goes on.

I don't know what your even looking at.
