As for the law, it's bizarrely specific isn't it? That EMTs are allowed to refuse medical treatment to gay people. Why? I mean think it through, it's one thing to not approve of somebody's lifestyle, and another to let them die in the street. Any paramedic who would see someone bleeding to death in the road and go "oh wait, hang on, fuck it, he's some sort of batty, let's all go and get coffee instead" is not somebody we really want being a paramedic.
