Today in Sofia, Bulgaria, a press conference took place where current European heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs) revealed his plans for the near future. The Bulgarian fighter announced that he’s going to face former World Boxing Association [WBA] world champion Ruslan Chagaev (31-2-1, 20 KOs) of Uzbekistan. The bout will probably take place on August 24th in one of the cities in Germany.

Strange that Pulev has only had 17 professional fights!

This might not happen, hasn't Chagaev had fights cancelled because of hepatitis issues?

Ruslan is licensed to fight in Germany. That's where this fight will be.

              ........he has hapatitis?
He should be the most avoided fighter in boxing

It's hard to tell what's going on. The whole thing started when Don King won the purse bid for Chagaev Valuev 2, and put it in Finland which was a head scratcher at the time. Sure enough, Chagaev was declared ineligible on medical grounds (hep b?) but it's never been an issue in Germany, which has pretty high standards all around.

It's easy to get vaccinated and become immune to the Hep B virus.

All boxers in Germany are required to receive the vaccine.
