Russia has condemned the DPRK for the skirmish.
I personally doubt China would get involved in the mess. China needs America and South Korea way too much and they know it. Chinas success depends on them selling goods at a manipulated price, with America being the supreme purchaser of their goods. China used to be bound to North Korea because of the whole Commie thing, but China has changed a lot since the Mao era and has "adapted" a more democratic stance on many issues.
