This ^. But it is of course in the interests of those with wealth and privilege to encourage social divisions, racial or otherwise, to help maintain their grip on power.

Keep wishing. The companies will go where the popularity is.
If that was true then why did they not go to Mayweather?

Larry, Please tell me you're trolling with this post.

        • There are so many ways humans have chosen to stratify our species (skin color, height, weight, sex, sexuality, religion, income, physical attractiveness, education, etc...)
Racism is moronic, but lest we forget...this nonsense happens all over the world. A white guy is going to have just as hard of a time lost in Compton, as a black guy in a backwoods Mississippi trailer park.

Point being, money follows profit. You think corporations give a **** about an athlete'so skin color?
Hockey is salivating at the thought of a black Gretzky
Roy is stuck viewing the world through a narrow-minded vantage point

The same reason that Mike Tyson lost his endorsements. Use your brain.
And no, it's not his woman-beating convictions.
It's the fact that Floyd can't be controlled. He says what he wants. Corporations don't like that kind of volatility. And unlike a live wire like Barkley, Floyd is inarticulate.
Posting sonogram pictures of a baby that was aborted to get back at a former lover. That's pretty toxic
            Use your brain, Larry

Are you sure that Floyd is even looking for endorsement deals?

Okay... and even if you really don't agree with the above (I would find that hard to believe, but okay) then let us consider:

There is 41,700,000 million African Americans in the US
Non-hispanic whites totals to 197,000,000 million.

Let's assume that the majority of AA find Serena more attractive, and the majority of non-hispanic whites in America find Maria more attractive (lets not forget Maria was born in Russia and has lived in the US since 1994). Statistically speaking, Maria would be more attractive to sponsors since she reaches out to a wider demographic proportion of the population.

And no, it's not racist to have a certain race preference. While I like all girls, I find latina girls the sexiest on average. Doesn't make me racist, or corporations racist either.

                • Have fun in Russia! It's a natural landing zone for a black man when you think about it, right?

So in other words, race DOES play a factor in an athlete's marketability. Not really sure what you're disagreeing with here.

And IMO, those Sharapova pics are just 'meh'. YMMV.

                    • Roy jones made some really good points. The only thing I would say is that the black fighters he's mentioned haven't been knocking out fighters in the manner that Pacquiao and ggg have... Those guys are very exciting to the causal fan and perhaps more marketable to those outside of boxing... There's an opp with wilder let's see what happens there
