Joe Louis vs. Mike Tyson

For many reasons that I wouldn't bother outlining, it would seem almost universally accepted that Joe Louis was the "Greater" of the two fighters and no argument here but...in a fight...I like Mike. Prime Tyson was solid defensively. Elusive with his constant head movement and peek-a-boo guard. He used his explosive speed, footwork and jab to cut off the ring and get inside the reach of mostly larger opponents. Like Louis his fearsome power is legendary, but Tyson fought in an era of larger heavyweights. Maybe most importantly, at his best Mike showed patience and discipline in the ring. Too fast, too strong, too mean, too much for Louis I think. I think prime Mike Tyson probably KO's prime Joe Louis. Just my 2 cents. Cant resist these era vs era match-ups.
