Vargas vs Trinidad

Remember the first time watching this fight. Was a bigger Tito fan than a Vargas fan, but thought he straight up cheated with those low blows.

Vargas definitely took a lot of BRUTAL nut shots in that fight.

Most of the low blows happened right after Trinidad was hurt too, they were obviously intentional.

EXACTLY. I remember thinking, "oh ****, Vargas got this!". Then WHAM, nut shot.

Yup, thats part of boxing man, You see guys use headbutts,elbows,rabbit punches, low blows..your allowed a couple..its like basketball..as long as your not pulling a Golata.

hate people saying Vargas was rushed into this fight
Vargas was an undefeated titlist with good wins at the time
he got damaged and KO'd, but he didn't go down without a fight
he dished out his share of punishment before he got stopped
this fight was great, not as one sided as it seems to be remembered as

A couple are fine and allowed but after that there's suppose to be point deductions and DQ's......especially if they were INTENTIONAL like in this fight.

Trinidad would have always won that fight, regardless of the low blows. Both men fought very rough and dirty. Vargas landed low blows and often held Trinidad's left arm while he pounded Trinidad with his left hook which is illegal. Most referees would have stop the fight and given it to Trinidad in the first round. Vargas was a great fighter at that time but Trinidad was to much for him. Vargas was never as good after that fight. He had an iron chin going into that fight but Trinidad cracked that chin and Vargas never took punches as well after that fight. Trinidad was never in that much trouble in that fight. He took a flash knock down as he often did but he was up quickly. Trinidad always recovered quickly from being hurt.

Vargas went out like a warrior.

Trinidad was a great fighter, but the intentional low blows piss me off in that fight. Not to mention dude was discovered to have been stacking his wraps; Cheato TriniWraps I've heard the young lads call him.
