Former EBU champion Alexander Dimitrenko (33-2, 21KOs) returned to the ring on Friday night at Sluneta in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic and won an eight round decision over rugged Austrian fighter Samir Kurtagic (11-5, 8KOs). Although Dimitrenko is now under a new trainer and he was far superior fighter in the match, he still needs a lot of work. He was caught and dropped in the eight round, but rose to his feet and finished off the contest. It was Dimitrenko's first fight since the knockout defeat at the hands of Kubrat Pulev on May 5th.
