Still towards the end of that period, you and Rory are right in that France took over as the super power in charge (behind England and Her Majesty's Empire of course!) It was only the beginning where Spain was large and in charge - and we can see their impact by essentially colonizing all of Central and South America (only Brazil speaks Portuguese, other than that, pretty much from Mexico, through Panama, down to Argentina, and Chile, Spanish is spoken).
Montevideo, Uruguay could easily be confused for a Spanish city... People don't like to think of these countries as "European" because they are not Anglo-Saxon like US, and Canada, but Argentina, Chile, Uruguay all had immigration history identical to USA, except different European countries.
Haha oh man that was truly the golden age of wrestling - IMO, the ONLY age!
Late 80's through mid/late-ish 90's (around 1998) was the peak IMO - both WCW and WWF were putting on great entertainment.
What about The Bushwhackers losing to The Headshrinkers?
