What is the cause of boxers leaving trainer Robert Garcia? Does anyone know? He did an excellent job with Maidana.

He has a large stable of fighters and can't possibly give each and every one of them the same level of attention.

I've heard Saul Rodriguez is leaving, out of his contract or is getting dropped by Top Rank too. And that he may or may not be getting with PBC, Haymon &/or Mayweather.

One theory is that most successful trainers like to spread themselves around too thin. They don't have the time to just concentrate on one fighter at a time because they have to earn a living as well. That's why Tim Bradley fired Joel Diaz for this very reason.

                  this

trainers have several fighters. fighters typically have one trainer. you can't spend time with every kid in your gym equal to the amount that you have to spend with a world class fighter to prep him for a title fight.

a lot is asked of a trainer today. floyd sr and roach sort of paved the way for trainers to become part of the "reality TV" side of boxing. prior to him there were colorful characters like atlas, and angelo dundee. in some ways trainers are expected to promote fights and speak on behalf of their fighters, especially when the fighters cannot speak english. they're expected to take part in press tours, be available to media for comments, etc. thses are busy, busy guys.
