  • Why did the judges give Danny Garcia the fight?

He got smacked around with the jab and right hand all night, had a little bit of success in the middle rounds, missed almost every punch he threw in the later rounds also. Then got beat up in the last rounds.

Peterson looked great with the movement and slipping punches making danny miss and landed at will. Why wasnt he the winner ?

I thought Peterson had an edge, but it should be pretty obvious why he lost. Garcia picked up most of the early rounds just by moving forward while Peterson landed almost nothing while retreating. If you're going to give away the early rounds, you usually need to win by KO.

You usually have to land more than light flicking jabs if you are retreating. Especially if you are the B side in the equation. And I really wanted to see Garcia lose.

Peterson's jabs were falling short half the time and the crowd were booing him, judges were going to notice these things.

You can't really judge a fight on facial damage either. Ever heard the phrase "leakin like a Puerto Rican"? I'm guessing it exists for a reason.

Because he won the fight. Some people swell up in the face easier than others, doesn't mean they lost the fight. Peterson just ran around the ring and threw a jab.

He missed almost all of his shots, and got beat down in the later rounds, he was just getting hit alot more. Lamont hit him alot more, and he didnt even do anything. On top of that his face was swollen and peterson jabbed all night.

The star fighter against an average drawing boxer will nearly always get the good end of any close decision

If Garcia wasn't so popular (relatively) do you think he would have gotten the decision?
