The guys who can beat Cotto at 154, is because they can beat him regardless. It's skill and style.

The only reason Cotto would do better at 147 right now is because the division is so god damn weak, there's only 4 good fighters there. Pacquiao, Bradley, Guerrero, and Devon. Marquez is a JWW.

Like if Mayweather is a full 154 pounder, yeah right, coming in at 150lbs. So why did Mayweather beat Cotto? Cause he's just better. That's all. I bet you Cotto could fight at 160 and beat a top guy there.

Styles make fights. Weights don't make a fighter.

If we're talking about 20-30lbs difference, or if someone is being weight drained, then we're talking.
I don't think Cotto beats any top 10 middleweight. Here are the top 10 and how I think Cotto would do against them:

    1. Sergio Martinez – KO loss
    2. Daniel Geale – UD loss (could be competitive)
    3. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr – KO loss
    4. Gennedy Golovkin – KO loss
    5. Peter Quillin – KO loss
    6. Dmitry Pirog – UD or TKO loss
    7. Felix Sturm – UD loss
    8. Mathew Macklin – UD or TKO loss
    9. Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam – UD loss (tough style match-up)
    10. Grzegorz Proksa/Martin Murray – UD loss (could be competitive)

•Andy Lee and Rubio would probably beat him as well...

At JMW we already know Mayweather and Trout beat him. I also think Alvarez and Lara would beat him.

The point is that Cotto is just not as good as he used to be and he was never really that good at 154. He's 3-2 w/wins over a weak titleholder in theone-legged Foreman, an old/shot to pieces Mayorga, and a shot one-eyed, shot to pieces, plasterless Margarito.
