So yes, we now see why EVERY municipality filing bankruptcy in recent years has been Democrat ran for decades upon decades.
The previous governor was a Republican who was elected to two terms in office. The Louisiana state Senate is majority Republican as is the state House of Representatives, both have been that way since 2011.

    Decades upon decades, doe.

You clearly stated poorest states, and nothing about federal aid..

And the "red" states, their federal aid is crop subsidies,, they are actually producing something-food, and the government pays a flat rate to support the price ..... It's not just a bunch of bums, though there is some, but mostly it's the crop subsidies rather than welfare... Blue states or areas got the real welfare, producing nothing and getting paid

Doesn't change that the people that live there are PISs poor and state depend on federal money. Yes they are the poorest anybody gonna argue that Missisippi Kentucky West Virginia are booming states lol? Subsidies hahaha you do know we don't even consume that much corn and wheat right? Some land owners don't even grow food and still get government check.

Who is to say that most of the people taking welfare money aren't voting for Democrats in a Red state. Democrats still get almost 40% of the vote in Kentucky, even if it's won by an R in a landslide.

          See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...Kentucky,_2012

So Who are these 37%-ers that voted for Obama in KY? Are you telling me that they voted for Obama so that they can get tax and spending cuts to programs that they "never" use?

And if you have a problem with Federal Money going to States, then take it up with the Federal Govt, vote Republican and make sure that there isn't any Federal money being given out in the first place...whether it be in the form of welfare or farmer subsidies. Stop the Republican vs Democrat pissing contest.

You clearly never went to college.

Have you heard of the fucking poverty line? HCI? Poverty gap?

You should at least google topics before trying to tell other people they don't know anything about them. You obviously don't have the slightest clue.

              Nice retort paul....

I'm actually college educated with a real degree B.A in finance, not like yourself at the local community college working on that liberal arts degree in philosophy, while you spend most of your time in a seedy bar, getting wasted, and banging fat chicks, and then wonder why your life sucks in Oklahoma..

But regardless, all those "topics" are not accurate indicators of poor/rich especially in regards to states. Those are more "micro" individual stats, then large population "macro" stats.. When comparing states, you have to factor in cost of living... You can't say average person in Arkansas make 22k a year, and then say in Ohio its 36k, so Arkansas is poorer.. The value of money and cost of living is a huge factor, and that 22k in Arkansas is like having 45k in Ohio.. Obviously these are examples and not true data.

And the whole point was about which states have more welfare, and it's red states but a large portion of that isnt your traditional welfare but rather subsidies so it's a misnomer to label them the "welfare" states

                  Sources please.

FYI, California and NY rank #1 and #2 in total State debt. Basic Math says those two 'blue' States must be the poorest.

Come on guys, it's not this difficult.

Guess how many states were red under one of the most prosperous times in America, in the 1980's?
