DeNiro had pretty much established his legacy over 30 years ago, Mean Streets, Godfather II, Deer Hunter, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, King of Comedy. He's had only a handful of good roles since.
He was awesome in Silver Linings Playbook. I think he's nominated for an oscar.
