Lakers have played below expectations all season though, its not an issue about heart. Also, the Mavericks have played incredible basketball these last 3 games.. they don't get enough props.

Pretty much every analyst was on the Lakers' dick during their post All Star game winning streak. They were the analysts' favorite to ome out of the West and the betting odds on favorite to come out of the West and either tied or slightly in back of the Heat to win the Championship.

Analysts must've missed those mini-slumps Lakers had, they've been inconsistent at times and IMO definitely didn't look like champs, especially during the last 5-6 games of the season where they blew their chance to close in on the Spurs #1 spot by losing games to inferior teams.

Alot of people are focusing on the Lakers faults and forgetting that the Mavs are red hot right now and haven't really put a foot wrong in the semis.

Even after the last 5-6 games when they lost to GS and other subpar teams, Lakers were the majority of "experts" pick to come out of the West because of the run they went on after the All Star Break. They were around 18-1 during the streak and blowing teams out. People thought that the Lakers could turn it on and off at will and that they just turned it off before the playoffs and would be able to turn it back on in time.

Dallas is a good team, but they seem to also be a bad matchup for the Lakers because they just answered back every time and outplayed them. Dallas is one of the few teams that could have neutralized their size and length (by matching an athletic 7 footer with a excellently skilled 7 footer against theirs).
