Tama ka bosing. At ang isa pang napakalaking kagaguhan ay kung paano nila implement. Mga bobo talaga.

Actually parang dapat ata nung last wednesday paguusapan sa SC yan before implementation pero di nahrap sa korte and they have no reason up to now kung bakit.

Lets all hope hindi talaga tuta ng admin ang mga taga SC or else turn off na talaga ako mukhang ******ed na kuya ni Kris. I voted for him pa naman.

The Cybercrime Prevention Act or Republic Act No. (RA) 10175 provides guidelines on the “prevention, investigation, suppression and the imposition of penalties” for cybercrimes, which include illegal access, interception, data and system interference, identity theft, cybersex, “cyber-squatting” or the misleading acquisition of internet domains, child ****ography, and online libel.

Ok sana yan except for some vague provisions that are open to misinterpretation and manipulation and therefore dangerous to all of us.

There are also some insertions that really post grave threats to the freedom of expression. You guessed it... the Sotto insertion of libel.

With its inclusion, we now have legislated a law for online libel which is a step backward in the long-term aim of decriminalizing libel.

Due to the law's vagueness, politicians can easily file charges against hostile critics by claiming that internet protesters have threatened their lives and their families. Censorship will lead to repression once a reform advocate has been labeled a cybercriminal.

Ito pa ang problema, this law seriously violate the people’s right to privacy since it empowers the government to access the private accounts and monitor activities of persons suspected of committing cyber crimes.

There are provisions in the said law that are too general. Any person surfing the web, innocently sharing some virus-infected files, can be accused of aiding or attempting to commit cyber crime.

Ang nakakatakot sa lahat, Section 19 gives Delima sweeping powers to restrict or block access to computer systems or websites found to be prima facie in violation of the provisions of the law.

Leila de Lima and and future DOJ secretaries will be the most powerful person vis-à-vis the Philippine internet because of the authority given to the DOJ that allows secretary to censor websites at will without any court order. DAMN.....

Furthermore, please take note of this, any person who writes something online that is deemed libelous can be prosecuted under the Revised Penal Code and the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

This provision of the said law goes against the 1987 Constitution, which protects people against double jeopardy.

This law protects the politicians and not the netizens na tulad ng ipinagmamalaki ng gumawa at nag approved ng batas na ito. They deserved our special kind of respect... :

Madali nilang naipaka-kalat ang anumang balita sa internet, and they now realized that is power. Maganda ito.
