  • is Golovkin vs Jacobs worth a PPV?

In Brooklyn, NY and of course with a stacked undercard?

Maybe a Broner vs Khan or Bradley as a co-main event and Algeri vs Malignaggi also.

undercards are nice, but historically they generate zero buys.

As for GGG-Jacobs being "ppv worthy". that depends on who you ask. I'd buy it without a doubt.

Truth is with the money they will have to pay Jacobs to fight him it's gonna have to be a PPV. He's gonna want like 3-4 million I'm guessing and GGG has to get paid too..HBO won't be paying that...almost wish GGG could fight on NBC, that would be a great prime time PBC fight.

No. It would be a nice fight on one of the PBC channels, tho.

If Jacobs stayed busy instead squandering his momentum from the Quillin and Mora wins he could grow into a decent name that would attract more interest. Right now, it'd be another weak ppv (<200k).

would be a very weak ppv unless Jacobs gets more name recognition

GGG-Wade would've been very close to this in ppv buys

It seems on par with GGG vs Lemieux. Maybe a lil better, maybe a lil worse.

I agree with OnePunch about the undercard angle. I don't think they sell much if at all. I don't think its a bad strategy for helping hype a guy up for a future PPV or premium cable fight, but I don't think it helps with buys for that specific event.

I think the problem GGG is gonna have is he's not gonna be PPV viable til he beats a PPV guy. And David nor Daniel are PPV guys. This is why he needed Canelo.
