Dawson realized it was dumb and even requested a compromise which Ward refused. Abraham was alright but nothing special. Lets not forget, nobody looked at the 168 division as anything special until Ward won Super Six then, it suddenly became the best division ever. Go figure.
So basically the law of averages being what it is....Ward is the luckiest MF alive. he basically got a gift with Dawson, btw ever watch that fight? Everyone talks about Dawson was pale, Dawson was drained, Dawson was almost dead, Dawson this Dawson that...Ward beat Dawson by getting him to drop his back hand a matter of inches, then snuck his shot in accurately just over the glove to Dawson's jaw...Dawson was beat on a technically superb strategy and little else.

One does not have to assume the division was super strong, yes Abraham was hyped... But Kessler was solid and Froch was solid and Ward did not win the tournament he ran away with it. He dominated it. And if you want to say that Bute was not hyped and Ward ducked him then Ill return the favor: Abraham, one of the hardest punching middle weights was so tough he fought Miranda with half his jaw off!!!!! Just one shot from this Aramic destoyer and it was lights out! see? Hype works both ways don't it? and Ward is no more lucky or unlucky than any other fighter...he just was good enough to clean up and to outbox Dawson unequivocally.

You seem to have an agenda. I've noticed this is the third time you have said this about a certain type of fighter. Can't say I'm
          surprised.

Ward is a phony. Seriously doubt he will fight Kovalev. He might not even fight Barrera. He avoided Bute, Andre Dirrell and Froch rematch in UK, and ducked GGG, he has proven he has teeny balls and his clinch and grab, hug and duck down low 'style' won't work on the Russian monster, he will get demolished, but unfortunately we won't get to see that cos he has no intention of getting in with SK.

I have absolutely no reason to believe Ward, an Olympic gold medalist, undefeated as a pro and undefeated in anything since 12 years old - with his skills and champion mindset wouldn't get into the ring wth Kovalev.

He obviously wants to get paid for the risk - fair enough. But as he says, it would be wrong to go to 175 without trying to see Kovalev.

Dawson got knocked out cold in sparring because he was so drained in camp for the Ward fight.

Kessler had to retire from the scar tissue Ward left him as a gift of his 35 intentional headbutts during that fight. Ward didn't even get warned for a butt so he used it to his advantage to cheat flagrantly.

Peter Nelson who runs HBO boxing has said he's okay with Golovkin fighting these guys as long as the fans support him. You guys are propping up a coward.
Ha ha. You're trying to defend a guy who fights once every three years, against a bum, versus a guy who fights anyone, fights 4 x a year, and is the most feared fighter in boxing. Ward wanted nothing to do with GGG, and will get absolutely smashed if he gets in the ring with Kovalev.

Triple G should just fight him at whatever weight he wants, that cherry picking headbutter has got more excuses than anyone in history. Barerra might even end him, if he actually finishes dicking around with the talking. He's a clown.

Bute vs Ward, styles make fights

The belts amount to about as much as Charlie Z's belt... And when you see a guy who steps up and cannot win (Degale, Froch) it tells you that the guy was never at that level...

Some will counter that styles make fights....What on God's sacred Earth could bute hope to do to Ward?
TBH i think Bute could cause ward problems when he is rushing in with Bute landing that devastating body shot that he was known for , and since ward doesnt have immense power in his hands i dont see him doing the same number on bute as froch did, with that being said i dont see bute ever beating froch, styles makes fights and froch was too much for bute , just like the cobra dismantled arthur abraham flawlessly from round 1-12 without needing to get out of 2nd gear and on the other hand we saw how ward struggled with Arthur in the first half of the fight , Ward even resulted to several low blows and critical headbutts on abrahams previously shattered jaw/chin . If you remember the miranda fight arthur got his face totally shattered by headbutts combined with mirandas hayemakers, yet he saw the fight to the finish and won on points, abrahams jaw was litteraly hanging from his face and his mouth was looking like idk what . Im sure virgil and ward had this card up their sleeve to capitalise on that previous injury if they got in trouble with abraham and couldnt win purely on boxing.
