  • As much as i like GGG this in not a 60/40 fight and probably not 70/30 since Canelo dropped down. Lost alot of respect for Canelo but damn can he fight, so he'll get it back. GGG best bet now is to make Canelo pay bigtime for every pound he asks under 160 and take 10mil. GGG looked pretty vulnerable last fight, he DID get hurt so he better get it done sooner rather than later.

If ggg really is this unstoppable world beater, why wouldn't he take the deal that was on the table, go on to KO Canelo, then at that point be the globally recognized #1 P4P fighter and the unquestioned PPV draw??? Please explain.
Canelo dropped the belt and ran like a puta b!tch....plus De La Whore -ah gave a completely different story in regards to a GGG fight just the other day....more Golden b!tch posturing...

If people are dubbing it the biggest fight in boxing, and some are even projecting it might actually do over 1M buys, how can you just give him a flat fee? part of the reason that it's the biggest fight is because of the matchup, because Golovkin. He's going to contribute to bringing some of those numbers. You have to give him some PPV upside.

Neither fighter will get those type of projections without each other. I'm sure Loeffler knows that GGG is the B-Side, they'll definitely take less of the split. But you have to have a split here.
If canelo vs cotto can't do over 1M buys, then canelo vs GGG won't even get close to that

He didn't refuse to fight his mandatory. He was, and is willing to fight him on terms that make sense. Don't try and pretend that Canelo isn't the unquestionable A side and didn't earn the right to dictate the terms of the fight the same way that Mayweather and Cotto did to him.

If anything, ggg refused to fight Canelo by making unreasonable demands.

Canelo took a split when he fought Mayweather, he didn't just accept a flat fee. Despite the fact that he never headlined a PPV prior to that fight and that he was going up against the biggest star in boxing. He had a $5M guarantee but made well over $12M off the PPV buys.

If he took a flat feet he would be robbed of a lot of money because he contributed greatly to those 2.2M buys.

Golovkin vs. Canelo will likely not come close to 2.2M but this is going to be the biggest PPV of either fighters career when you consider the money involved. People are dubbing it 'biggest fight in boxing' and some are predicting it could do well over 1M buys. It's obvious that Golovkin would contribute heavily to those numbers because Canelo can't do close to that without Golovkin and vice versa. Just look at how far Canelo's numbers have dipped since the Cotto fight (which is an anomaly at this point). Because the fight is so big, both fighters have to capitalize on it now. Golovkin moreso than Canelo, because even if Golovkin were to win the fight, it's not like he'll become this A-side PPV attraction all of a sudden.

By accepting a flat fee, he would be sacrificing so much money that he helped bring in. I'm not saying Golovkin deserves 50-50 or even 60-40. Because he doesn't. But he definitely deserves a split of the PPV.
