  • Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Saunders: Golden Boy VP Says 'Door is Still Open'

Earlier today, Golden Boy Promotions officially announced their pay-per-view undercard for September 17th, for the event that is headlined by WBO 154-pound titlist Liam Smith defending his crown against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Why keep trying to get Saunders in the ring when he ended up backing out of the Rosado fight?

Saunders is a complicated fighter to deal with who seems to think that all fighters should bow down to him.

The Canelo undercard was a great opportunity for him to get a big welcome to the US Market. Now he just made himself look bad and Golden Boy look bad.

Best of luck to Golden Boy getting Saunders into the ring with Canelo should he get past Smith.

Smart move! He NEEDS Saunders belt if he doesn't want to get bent over the table by GGG team next year. The belt will bring the purse back up to 70/30 split. Without it he would only get 50/50...

Because paying Saunders his asking price of $4 million will be worth $$$$$$$ in a 70/30 split. No belts he would get laughed at on top of being called CanYellow!!! His name is mud right now. And with zero belts at MW for GGG??? He'll be filing for sexual assault after they rip him up.

He wants that WBO strap. BJS wanted to milk this belt, but instead he missed a few opportunities to defend, one due to injury. But BJS would have to be a complete moron to not fight canelo. Unless he's thinking long term and holding that belt for as long as possible and defending it in the UK.

Willie Monroe "is a championship quality guy" against Canelo should he beat Rosado. Meanwhile he was a nobody as GGG's opponent. The hypocrisy! Golden Boy and Canelo are beyond full of TISH!!

That WBO belt will give Canelo a lot of bargaining power with GGG

So we're just gonna keep picking the weakest belt holder in each division and have the nerve to call yourself champion??
