The New York Knicks point guard, Jeremy Lin, is now getting top attention not only in NBA but in the whole world where basketball is appreciated. Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who keeps on ducking Manny Pacquiao, lambasted Lin on his Tweeter account with his comment on racial jealousy by comparing Black Americans and Asian-American in relation with achievements and praises in the Land of the Free (US).
Floyd said that "Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."
It might be true that there are Black- Americans who are good in the sports but do not receive the same praise as Lin has. However, that is not a reason for Floyd to be racially jealous against Lin in particular or against Asians in general. He should be thankful to these people to their contribution in the sports.
It is blessing showered upon Lin, who is thriving to excel in basketball, to outscore some leading NBA players of his time and win his team. He said that Yao Ming, who has retired in NBA, is his inspiration is basketball.
There are many Asian descents in the US excelling in many sports but they are not appreciated with Manny Pacquiao being the exception because he is a super star. Let us hope those unapprecia ted Asians in the US would be put on to the limelight of praise and recognition. Let us take Floyd’s racial jealousy challenge Asians. ahlopez10082.blogspot.com
