i've never liked diaz,think he's no good,but for a fight to prepare him for pac is ok,diaz is lefthanded so it should help a lot,it's not like he's going to fight diaz then another bum,followed by yet another bum,he's preparing for manny,besides he deserves it,he's fought manny twice and mayweather,don't see what the problem is in him taking this fight,besides it's only to prepare him for pacquiao

Why not just hire tough southpaw sparring partners and a nutritionist/trainer to help him bulk up efficiently over the summer? Why is this necessary, how does fighting David Diaz at 135 help prepare him for Pacquiao at 147?

he should have chosen zab judah.....coward marquez is moving backward.....zab has speed and power just like the pacman, which is the best tune-up for marquez at higher weight instead of slow david diaz.....

Some of you guys need to relax. Its a tune up fight to keep off any ring rust when JMM prepares for Pac in the Fall/Winter. Its a solid fight against a former World champ plus he's a southpaw.

fighting a slow and loser david diaz at 135...why not test yourself at 140 and fight zab judah and accustom yourself at higher weight....it only shows that Marquez is coward in fighting fighters at higher weight....He only wants Pacman for last and bigger retirement payday....what a shame.....

Not anywhere on the article did it say the fight was at 135. Good tune up if its at 140. And for those asking why doesn't he fight zab. Probably the same reason pac is fighting mosley this saturday instead of martinez at 154lbs. (Where pac "won a title at"). To insure a win and to not jeopardize bigger paydays in the future.

marquez always fighting smaller or his same size opponent while pacman fighting bigger, stronger, bigger advantages in height and reach opponent....who is much better david diaz or mosley????
