Is Scarface an overrated movie?

had this talk with my friend the other day.. He said it was nothing but a hyped action movie.. Average or just above, nothing but the word ''fuck'' guns and testosterone.. I told him that's what makes it so good! Finally a gangster movie that goes all out.. from slum to drug-baron who ends up going all out against another drug cartel. + in my mind Pacino played the role perfectly! Funny as hell and a bad mother****er too.

I have to say it is a little overhyped, that doesn't mean it isn't a great flick. Just that some people put it up there with other gangster movies like Godfather I and II and it isn't.

i dont think its overrated. you never hear movie buffs calling it one of the greatest. and its defintly not one of the greatest. i think its just overly exposed as a cultural thing, like in hiphop and what not. its a good movie. i like it. not a tremondous movie but good to watch.

i would say it was overrated if people movie critics and the like said it was like top 25 movie of all time. even top 50. its only 171 on the top 250 on imdb. but that list is a complete joke though.

It's overhyped......but by no means overrated.

Kids from this generation tend to be Scarface nuthuggers and it annoys everyone else yeah......however the movie itself kicks ass.

Its very overrated. People walk around with Scarface **** and quote it like its one of the greatest movies of all time. Very overrated and isnt even in the top 5 gangster movies. Godfather, Godfather 2, Casino, Goodfellas, and Carlitos Way all **** on this movie. Theres more but its not worth my time.
