People call Stevenson a ducker because he didn't like HBO's offer for the Kovalev fight. However Manny turned down the biggest garunteed purse in boxing twice yet somehow Floyd is the ducker. People cried for Broner to move up division after division yet it's cancerous for GGG to move up one division. Too many inconsistencies in boxing to take this sport seriously anymore. Same goes for NSB.
    yep.............

Yeah and that's usually after they milk the fighter for all he's worth and by that time the mega fight is now just a fight and there's nothing but excuses afterwards about how it would've turned out if it happened earlier.

What we need is for the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF to make the rule that the champion can only fight a top 15 rank guy or another champion.. This way you don't see stuff like Canelo vs Rosado

they already have that rule, the problem is the belts need the fighters so when a fighter wants to fight a bum the belts magically make that bum appear in the top 15 like when haye fought audley or when canelo tries to fight rosado he will appear! wa-la! magic!

Yes, the trend is definitely there. A lot of it has to do with keeping the "0" like that makes a fighter more marketable, but it really doesn't. If Oscar kept his "0" beyond Trinidad, he still would have lost to Mosley, unless he refused to fight him. But he did fight him and win, lose or draw, that is much easier to respect and he fought two very close fights with a prime Hall of Fame fighter and of course, Oscar fought everybody in his generation. Mayweather will keep his "0". However, it is all for nothing. Mayweather and the others hurt their own legacies by doing this. My guess is though, that the money and not the legacy, is what matters most to him and some of these others. Either way, in the long run, trends are like a lot of things. They come and go very quickly. The class acts are always more respected in time by all and their legacies are better because they didn't cherry pick.
