North Korea having a crazy little dictator is in America's best interest. If North Korea weren't perceived as a threat, America would no longer have a reason to keep 30,000 troops on the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea are less of a threat as they are than they would be if the US began a war of aggression against them. It would quickly spread into a wider conflict, not to mention decimate the northern part of South Korea.
