On September 22nd Scotland’s Ricky Burns shall make a second defence of his WBO lightweight crown against Cockney favourite Kevin Mitchell in a bang-up that seems sure to feature in the Fight of the Year honours.

Ahead of the clash at Glasgow’s SECC, boxing writer Glynn Evans canvassed 40 of the sharpest minds in boxing and asked them to predict a winner.

Blimey, pretty much 50/50 then.

It's also nice to see the fans on here discussing the fight without slagging off either fighter - which you don't get when it's US/Mexican/Puerto Rican/Pacquiao/Klitschko's involved. Just lots of childish name calling & empty threats from armchair fans & cyber warriors.

This is too close to call. If Burns can weather the early storm, he'll get the decision.

Huge Burns fan; big fan of Mitchell as well. I have a feeling Mitchell might be able to take this, though. He's the smoother boxer, the bigger puncher, and has the faster hands. Burns has the range, the jab, and the intangibles.

Rather would have a great classic fight, than a ho-hum Burns victory.
