Wilder said he wanted to make his first defence against Fury in the UK so this line about having to come to America is nonsense and just a pathetic excuse to justify a blatant duck.

So Wilder turned down 10M for Povetkin.

I'm not going to blame Wilder for this. I don't know what kind of person he is. Maybe he wants to fight anyone to prove himself but if his team says NO there's nothing he can do. Wilder's team clearly don't have any faith in his ability to beat the very best.

Wilder: "Shelly Fingas, we ready!! 10 million. He's just another fighter. I'm finna give this Russian a permanent concussion! Bombsquad?"
Finkel: "No Deontay, no. Povetkin ain't just another fighter. This guy is a wrecking machine! And he's hungry! He'll knock you to tomorrow, Deontay!"
Wilder: Why my team don't trust me? Is it my legs?
The next day in the gym....

And the nerve of the Yankees to actually PROMOTE this crap!
Pathetic!
Absolutely pathetic!
Wilder should be ordered to accept his beat down or be stripped of his title.
So called champion and STILL a bum-fighter!

Why do people seriously consider his team would go to Russia for his first title defense in a hugely risky fight? They are trying to groom this guy as an American star. For better or worse the plan clearly is to take a couple easier defenses and then probably set up a huge Klitschko fight. It's not really about the money here it just doesn't fit in their plan. Fighting in Russia and losing would obviously destroy what they have in mind for Wilder.
I'd like to see the fight, but he's not ready for that. Povetkin would probably crush him.Last edited by ИATAS; 01-31-2015, 01:38 PM.
