basically rigo is a moron and brought this on himself I have no sympathy for him.he chooses to fight an extremely dull fight without ever taking any risks even when he's up against an opponent who is overmatched.I'll give you two perfect examples.1 rigo vs agbeko a fight I attended where it was such a stinker that people got up and left during the fight.I have never seen that before.2 rigo vs francisco which was supposed to be his big comeback in the spotlight of a huge ppv card and what does he do with that opportunity, rigo completely stinks out the joint!!! honestly rigo should just back to being an amateur boxer or something he has no place in pro boxing.

Rigo is an all time GREAT no matter what, would whoop legendary 122 fighters in their prime, the boxing commentators on HBO dumb down the public, especially casuals therefore it's much easier to make money off overrated bums, Rigo has always been unappreciated by the commentators especially the lead commentator whose voice is always the last one heard in an exchange of opinions between the entire crew...it doesn't matter what the snake Arum, garbage Merchant, the coward Lampley or the barking Lederman say RIGO IS THE ARCHETYPE OF THE BOXER...due to socialism/communism we didn't even see him fight in his body's physical prime

This is the stupidity of today's "fight fan." Think about how ridiculous the statement, "won't take a risk against an overmatched opponent" is. Why is it up to the guy that's WINNING the fight to take unnecessary risk? And if you wanna blame someone for a lack a risk taking, blame thr guy that's LOSING the fight that's content to keep a safe distance and lose a lopsided UD? Instead of selling out and "risk" getting KTFO.

Question! I am struggling with this. Why is it Pernell Whitaker had great success and became famous with a similar style but Rigo has not? My guess some combination of these: 1. Bad management, 2. Bad promoter, 3. the big names wont fight him, 4. Doesn't speak English. So which is it. Pernell was no more talented, no more flashy, no more aggressive.

Mayweather is such a boring fighter, but the way he fights, it has beauty on it..

But Rigo, THE BORINGNESS is out of this world. immeasurable BORINGNESS! Think of mayweather's boringness intensified and multiplied by eternity minus the beauty. THE MOST BORING FIGHTER who ever lived! Full of talent, but a BORINGNESS FACTOR bigger than the milky way! LMAO!

You know, HBO get a lot of crap from both of you who love Rigo. But it's more than fair to point out after HBO + Top Rank cut ties with him, no one else wanted to sign him either.

Once again, no one else wanted him either.

Even after all that, he actually got another shot on HBO and put on the most unwatchable fight I can remember. They wont want him back, though it wouldn't surprise me to see him wind up on Cotto's next undercard.

Most people don't want to watch him. Deal with it.

Figured as much, but i'm surprised you all don't edit your content more appropriately, to reflect the actual situation as it stands when such an article is uploaded. You know your stuff, and the lack of editing is just poor journalism—you deserve better Cliff!

It's all of those plus Pea was a US gold medalist, and fought in much more popular and talent rich divisions

''That's what makes this weekend critical. Let's assume, for now, Rigondeaux works out the visa issues that could, with days to go, postpone or cancel this fight...'' - Cliff Rold

As Teddy Atlas and many others have said on a live telecast, ''this is what's wrong with boxing...''

How would Cliff Rold or Dan Rafael even assume that the fight would be cancelled due to Visa issues when Box Nation or Queensbury Promotions gave a statement that the Holiday closing from the Moscow - UK Embassy only affected one working day...

Then they report, if I'm not mistaken, that on the ''Holiday'' closing, Rigo jets back to the USA? WTF? It's obvious Box Nation didn't want to showcase this and Roc Nation Sports didn't even contest this oddball occurrence which means only one thing...there must have been a non disclosure agreement settled for Caribe and Roc.

How is it a coincidence that Dan Rafael or Cliff Rold, an obvious bridge from the BWAA crew both stated that the fight might be cancelled, with Rold or Rafael reporting that Rigo and his Team were having troubles with the application... You'd assume that Queensbury Promotions or someone from the UK would be in Moscow to help facilitate the whole VISA process or perhaps even ''Consult'' the ''team'' or ''Caribe'' or ''Roc Nation'' that ''hey your fighter should come a tad earlier for the VISA process, in case there are any problems or a cancellation, we will make sure to report that it was Box Nation or Queensbury Promotions' fault for not checking earlier...''
