  • - Lineal MW champ doe. COTTO MADE HISTORY DOE. Fighing 40 year old injured one legged Martinez at a catchweight for a fake title.

    - Hoping to lure Mayweather back for a megafight for the lineal MW title! A side Cotto doe!

    - Paying GGG $800k step aside money to fight Canelo for the WBC title.

    - Realizing they have to pay another $300k to the WBC and you have to fight GGG anyway if you win.

    Result

    - Cotto is cornered, paid the 800k and also dropped the belt!! (also shat his pants).

Cott = biggest clown in boxing PERIOD!

Google the translation. IBA = was

Your theory is shot. GGG was going to receive 800k that never happened. It was a part of the terms. That money was to be paid Monday night at the deadline along with the 300k.

Sorry to shot your theory down.

        • After last nights exciting victory, GGGs main goal is to capture the remaining middleweight titles and fight big name boxers south of 168 lbs. Miguel Cotto fulfills both traits as he holds a piece of the middleweight title and has the name recognition which could propel Golovkin into super-stardom. However, Cotto would carry a size, power and age disadvantage if he were to step in the ring with GGG. Miguel Cotto has been in many wars with big punchers and a fight with GGG is the last thing he needs at this point in his career. • And they just couldn't wait until after the fight. Sulaiman trying to play mind games on Cotto, how cool. The only relevant belt in boxing is the Lineal one, so, the others can suck one.

Not sure how Canelo gets an automatic shot at the title considering circumstances...oh wait, he paid his dues, right...
Cotto-Canelo was sanctioned as a WBC title fight, so Cotto not paying his fee has nothing to do with Canelo's end. Technically Cotto has not been stripped, because there is still a pending sanctioned bout. The WBC is following the same protocol they would if a champ misses weight. He isnt technically stripped, but only the opponent can win the title.

              Semantics......

Cotto must have thought it was "relevant", being as he paid $800k to hang onto it a little while longer.......

You'd rather fight GGG than Canelo knowing you'll make 3x the money fighting Canelo? I know your a fool.

Fighters usually do not get paid until after the fight.
