  • Boxing gloves

Im looking to get some gloves in the UK, around the £50-£80 mark. At the moment, the only good gloves I have found here are Twins gloves, but they are technically Muay Thai gloves. I was wondering if anyone you know boxes with them and its its a problem at any boxing gyms?

I was supposed to get a pair for Xmas but got a pair of fighting sports instead. I've had boon gloves and fairtex gloves, there is no difference between them and any boxing glove I have owned.

Here is Kameda sparring someone with Twins gloves. Can't find it at the moment but there is video pacquiao sparring or hitting the bag using twin gloves as well.

They seem like well made, good quality gloves. I haven't used them but a young lad at our gym had a pair of Twins in 10 oz (he was only 8 years old at the time). I was going to buy a pair for my lad as he had injured his thumb at the time and these seemed to have really good thumb support. Not as padded in the knuckle area as some other gloves designed specifically for sparring though.

I can't speak for others, however there would be no problem wearing them in our gym. I know a couple of clubs that prefer their lads to spar in gloves like the ones in the below links i.e. with extra padding in the knuckle area and the rounded contact area.

Not seen the heavier version of the Twins so can't comment on how much padding they have in the knuckle area - but I would say they would be OK to use in most boxing clubs. They are no different to specific boxing brands.

Cheers. I think for now it will mostly be for pad work and light sparring. When I start sparring heavily and often I will get some special ones and keep them solely for sparring. Im going for the 16oz ones, so they should be padded. Only thing is ive heard the thumb is weird, not bad always, but weird

          These are very good gloves.

I would certainly recommend them. My lad has a pair in 14 oz but I sometimes use them as I prefer these to my gloves.

Good all rounders but a little bit more expensive.
