Keep in mind Floyd is growing into a natural welterweight, just the way Pac and Marquez are moving up for a reason, Campbell couldn't sweat down to 135, Hopkins couldn't fight right at 160, and Trinidad moved up as well. Floyd may have moved up to prove a point that he is so skilled he can beat bigger men, but eventually you can't cut down to those smaller weights as comfortable as before and after fighting at light middle, going back to 147 for a knockout win, and a 2yr layoff, we don't know how comfortable he'll be at 140. Why you think he's fighting it so hard?

i like gatti but what you said really doesn't say much.
          Picky,picky.

Watch Floyd dissect Zab Judah. Especially the mid-late rounds.

He beat the hell out Corley...Gatti...and Bruselles.

Those fights were when Floyd was at a comfortable weight.

We still don't know where Floyd is physically or mentally at this point so I would wait and see. It's not like he is getting any younger and inactivity kills.

Also, this fight might have to go at least 8 or 9 rounds because if it ends short, Floyd better have another tune-up because short fights don't help you understand where your stamina is in a real fight (under the lights/with a crowd). After a long layoff, short fights aren't really that great for you unless you plan to have more tune-up fights and build your way back up (which would be better but I doubt Floyd at this stage would do that).

Fighters should stay active to be at their best and I'm not talking about a one or two fights a year let alone one every two.
Every 3 months a fight should happen if not before. Still haven't figured out which Old Time boxer said that (from ESPN classics program)...maybe Carmen Basilio.

I dont think Floyds stamina will be an issue....

Hes a fighter who relies on speed ..timing...thinking..and reflexes.

After a couple rounds his muscle memory will kick in.
