Why has GGG's career been moved so slowly?

in boxing there's no shame moving up in weights. It actually benefits your resume and technical achievements. Moving up in a weight class and getting another belt is better than searching for more belts in a division in which everybody says he has cleaned.
Simplest Logic most kids would agree with.
Yes he could move up but who would he fight? Froch has retired as nWard hasn't fought at the smw limit for years now.

Devon Alexander beat Marcos Maidana much better than Floyd Mayweather Jr did.
Timothy Bradley beat JMM much better than Manny Pacquiao did.
That was easy.Last edited by Szef; 12-20-2015, 02:03 PM.

Ward is the only fighter that would be the favorite to beat gennady.
A ward win trumps a canelo win
But Canelo brings more money and an easier fight.
So ggg would rather fight Alvarez
And...
Id Still pick Ward to Win, but its closer than people think.

IF GGG moves to 168, wins fights, wins a belt or two, then that's way more than enough to receive respect and perhaps diminish any Ward or Froch scenario. GGG being a two weight world champion while he still has prime juice in him is good enough. The fact of the matter is there's no opposition like in Hagler's time , so there's no reason to want to unify all the belts. That's just the way it is. That's all just all tactical talk to give closure on K2s promotional time it has with GGG. It would've been the case IF Sergio Martinez had given the belt to GGG, but that didn't happen.
Nobody can blame Alvarez. That kid has his own agenda and has a way better resume than GGG. So no matter how anybody looks at it, he can call the shots. He already said he'd fight GGG. He said. No erasing it. When is just a matter of time like everyone else to be patient.
Ward? Forget Ward. Those two don't even belong in the same sentence. Real Ward fans are waiting for the Kovalev fight. Time passes. Get over it.

How can you compare an even older Marquez to a classic 4 series fight?! How old was Marquez when he put Pac to sleep? Has Bradley ever come close to hurting Pac in the compilation of what Marquez did?! dude... did you actually watch the fights or just replay highlights and what others say? They're on Youtube. =) Go watch them.

Because boxing has been corporatized like so many other industries. If boxing had a central authority like the NFL, then the "ducking" debates would disappear instantly.
Can you imagine people sitting around saying the Cardinals are ducking the Steelers or Patriots ducking the Giants?
Fix that, and then you only have to contend with regular corruption.
That's it--end of story.
Everything else is conjecture

Boxing was popular in the 80s. Leonard and Hearns could fill up a stadium and make millions fighting each other. Today? Not so much. You'd be lucky to make $1 million gross in a tough competitive fight. And if you lose you will never see that type of money again.
It's not corruption that is causing ducking alone. The bigger issue is the sport has no fans.
