Emille Griffth comes to mind anyone else?

Good question...Griffith seems like a good choice... I'm gonna have to ponder..

Buddy mcgirt was a pretty good fighter and so was roger mayweather in the more modern era... But neither was great

George Benton should be in discussion, probably not the greatest boxer to become a trainer but as a trainer there aren't too many at all that can match his stable / resume.

I just thought of one old school one that Ray Arcel say's was a very underated with his work with Joe Louis that would be Jack Blackburn a very good fighter who hung with Langford and other African American greats as a fighter.

Blackburn is usually considered an ATG Lightweight and obviously a pretty damn good trainer.
