I scored it 7-5 for Leonard. And I have seen it enough times to know that I'm not changing my score.

I've watched this fight so many times, it's dead even - only thing is..Hagler was the one making the fight, Leonard was running, it's Hagler title. I gave the fight to Hagler.

I didn't see "Leonard winning so many rounds" Even the early ones are hard to score. It's just that commentating made things worse. Hagler didn't land much early and SRL moved a lot, SRL damn near did nothing as well however, people forget that.

I gave it to Hagler, I've watched the fight so many times even with people sitting beside me and giving their 2 cents.

Watching it live I had it for Leonard by one point. And I definitely wanted Hagler to win.

Well i scored it for Hagler, here is my card from the Scorecard thread

            Round 1 - 10-9 SRL

            Round 2 - 10-9 SRL

            Round 3 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 4 - 10-9 SRL

            Round 5 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 6 - 10-9 SRL

            Round 7 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 8 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 9 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 10 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 11 - 9-10 HAGLER

            Round 12 - 9-10 HAGLER

            TOTAL 116-112 - HAGLER

Seems wider looking at it on paper than it felt, there were a few close rounds in there that could have gone to Ray but i liked Marvins pressure, harder shots and his workrate over Leonards Flashy bursts

1 & 2 were Sugar Ray rounds, in the third Hagler went to his natural stance of southpaw and i thought he done enough. The 4th was Sugars, the 5th was a very close round that could have went either way but i went for Hagler, the 6th Ray did enough too take with his elusiveness and flashy combo's. 7 was Haglers, The 8th was clearly Marvin rd, round 9 was a great round which i gave to Hagler but Ray made close with a big Flurry near the end, 10 to Hagler, 11 was a close one but i felt while SRL was showboating and moving he wasnt scoring effective shots or at least not enough, and the 12 round Sugar Ray showboated without doing too much other than one great flurry mid round, Hagler sealed it with a big left and a couple of follow up shots at the very end

Ive always had it comfortably for Leonard, even though i really wanted Hagler to win.

Leonard imo landed the cleaner, harder shots (its a myth Leonard only landed 'pitty pat punches to impress the judges). And applied his game plan perfectly. He simply outboxed Hagler.

BUT....when i tried watching it recently, paying close attention to EVERY punch landed (i had to watch several rounds 2 or 3 times), i noticed Hagler did land more body shots than i thought he did.

haglers punches were acctually cleaner in addition to being harder and much more effective.
hagler ****ed up, had he started faster he wouldve knocked leonard out. but he still won, it was close but he won.
I disagree with everything in bold. I have it the complete opposite. Hagler was the one missing badly. Leonard landed very effectively with clean shots and was economical. He did clinch a lot but i dont believe he just ran. He moved away, used the right movement, and was smart.

I scored rounds 1-6 exactly the same as you.

But theres no way that Hagler swept the final six rounds!!!

I think Hagler should have and could have won the fight, but didn't. He didn't because he came in there with the wrong attitude and let sugar dictate what the fight was going to be. If there had been a rematch I'm pretty confident hagler would win. perhaps hagler's anger about the decision and scoring is as much anger with himself and the way he fought it as anything.

I'd agree with this. Fight wasn't a robbery whatever way you go but to take a title off a long reigning champion I'd want to see a bit more than Leonard did. Have to say an impressive performance from Leonard after so long out and Hagler didnt fight well. I think it was a draw but gun to my head I'd give the champion the benefit of the doubt
