Video of How clumsy and slow Vitali would get destroyed by Cooney

Video of how Gerry Cooney would make Wladmir cry like the little girl that he is.

Cooney had bad luck in that he primed during the great Larry Holmes's prime. And of course, Vitali also had bad luck having had to fight the sickeningly overrated Lennox Lewis who was also slow but not as slow and very clumsy but not as clumsy as the Frankenstein Brothers Klitschko.

Cooney would no doubt have been champ today with the Klitschko's serving as his sparring partners.
You sound sincere, but you also sound as if you don't know too much about boxing. I always thought that gerry Cooney was agood fighter and againsr Holmes if it had been a 10 rd fight, he's have won it easily. However, he didn't have even close to the kind of boxing skills you talk about, he only had his left hook.

It was a very good left hook, very good, and punished Holmes unmercifully, until i was wondering how Holmes was able to stand up to it. But it had a huge flaw. Cooney was a huge man and not being a boxer had no idea how to get close enough to an elusive target to throw his hook. His hook was a very "rounded" kind ofpunch, which made it very short, and he had to get very close to hit his opponent.

He'd NEVER be able to do this against either of the Klitschkos before he ever got close, they'd pulverize him. Yes, he was very tough, and a great scrapper, but his style was to limited todo anything against them.

    My opinion...Sorry.

raw destructive power is what he does posess. and imo he beats thompson. only heavies better than him are the bros, haye, ademek, and mebbe povetkin. yea cooney was a great white hype but he could fight.

Cooney would weigh 20 more than what did back then if was fighting now...
