I'm sorry but Amir Khan is the biggest hype job in decades.

Ortiz. Just as much hype, doesn't have half the hate, and people are still saying, "if he is okay mentally he will beat fighters X, Y, and Z," no matter who you match him up with.

No Question he is one of the biggest HYPE JOBS I have ever seen in boxing...only thing that ever impressed me about Khan was his SPEED...other then that...NOTHING!

A guy getting thrown in the Mix as a potential candidate to fight Mayweather...AND FOR WHAT...he hasn't done any thing in the sport of boxing, he is just the guy that Spars with Pacquiao and is trained by Freddie Roach, that is his Claim to Fame...

Ortiz is a hype job from day one but I don't think many thought he would carry the sport like Khan. I think Ortiz would beat Khans ass from pillar to post.

The truth is people seem to not realize that boxing isn't all about being a great athlete. Khan is a good athlete but he isn't a great fighter and at this point in his career he will never be one, it just is something he will ever overcome. Peterson with or without PEDs would of beat him in a rematch, Garcia iced him, and without a doubt Bradley would of beat up on him too.

I picked Garcia by kayo going into this fight because Garcia is just simply better. Garcia isn't special by no means, he's wild as hell but Khan just isn't good. He's so average when you talk boxing skills its absurd and that is why he is the biggest hype job in ages. People need to stop falling into the trap of hand speed. Peace out, Amir.
peterson arguably lost against amir on peds. he'd get slaughtered if he fought him fairly

Well, he was definitely overrated by his fans.

Dunno if he's the absolute biggest hype job in decades, though.

                I think you're being unfair.

After all, Khan has beaten good fighters. He has proved himself.

He's just not as good as most thought he was and could be, myself included.

                I still think he's a good fighter.

I highly doubt it because Khan will never adjust his game. He never adjusts his style when it isn't working in the ring and he never adjusts to his opponent before he steps in the ring. He is a one trick pony that just happens to be a good athlete. Peterson would learn from the first fight and handle him. You would think Khan with this much seasoning would be better but it just isn't there, he just can't do it.

                    Agreed, overstatement for sure.

He can beat some solid fighters strictly on his speed, but he can't beat the best unless they are tailored for his game, and even then it's tough. Take Maidana for example, that style is perfect for Amir yet he fought like a fool, didn't adjust, and still nearly got iced. He's just not a smart fighter, I don't know any other way to say it.
