  • Comments Thread For: Frank Warren on Price, Burns, Macklin, Gavin, More

Boxing is as much about great fights as it is great fighters.

The current battle for hegemony between British TV channels -predominantly BoxNation and Sky Sports - is suddenly bringing to fruition the match-ups which fans have been craving. As a consequence, 2013 now looks likely to be a vintage year here on Bash Boulevard.

This evening local heavyweight David Price attempts to exorcise the demons of his shattering knockout loss in February when he faces Washington DC’s Tony Thompson in a rematch at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

‘Big Pricey’ deserves props for boldly returning to the scene of the disaster against his vanquisher but it’s not a route that I’d have recommended.

The Yank, a fleshy 18st10lbs for the first encounter, has landed in fabulous physical fettle this time. He’ll be acutely aware that he possesses the poke to perform a repeat execution.

Can't believe Warren says Burns is being left behind!? Doesn't even make sense.

Yawn. More bitterness from Frank. If i didnt love boxing so much id cancel BoxNation purely because of his being a massive bell end

Only had one fight so far against an unbeaten KO artist who was his MANDATORY. How can you even criticise that? Beltran is a bit of a disappointment, to be fair, but it should still be a top fight. 2014 will be the year he unifies.

Well because he pulled out of a unification fight against Vasquez and constantly ducked Broner. The guy he fought was a bum, lets be real. And now he's fighting Beltran who is nobody either.

I really like Burns. He got past a very tricky mandatory and now he can have a couple of voluntarys. Beltran is decent, he was Pacquious sparring partner and beat Hank Lundy. It's a good fight.

FFS Beltran is rated in the top 10 at lightweight is he not? Hardly a bum. Gonzalez was his mandatory. Some people will try to use anything to have a go at a fighter.

He quite clearly did do better for him.
