Difference is, in the U.S, that soldier will be held accountable for his actions and spend the rest of his life in prison.

I wonder how many of these atrocities happened when the Russians were in Afghanistan and nothing was done about it. The U.S does everything to limit casualties, hold it's criminals accountable and you want to justify the beheading of two boys to this?

I wonder what those Taliban will get for cutting off the heads of these two boys?

This is a fallacy called "tu quoque" or "you too" whereby instead of answering criticism you say "Well the other side are just as bad".

As it happens the other side are not just as bad.
