NEWARK, NJ - Travis "Freight Train" Walker, 39-7-1, 31 KOs, has waited a long time to make his move in the heavyweight division. The eight-year pro originally from Tallahassee, FL, has fought all over the world against major competition. But he will get his biggest opportunity to gain attention from the boxing public when he faces former two-time world champ Tomasz Adamek, 46-2, 28 KOs, in the 12-round main event at Newark, NJ's Prudential Center on Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2012. Adamek's IBF North American Heavyweight Title will be on the line in the fight.

Was Adamek ever really that good of a heavyweight to begin with or did he just appear as such because of the lack of any real depth in the division? In my opinion he was just ok, not really special as a heavyweight. At best an average contender in a weak era. Gotta give him credit for heart though, he's no quitter.

It was funny to see a one-armed Eddie Chambers thoroughly embarrass a euro bum like Adamek.

          Ignorant troll.

Eddie did do real well, considering.

Why doesn't HBO pick this one up? It will be a good fight. I bet the only reason they bought Vitali-Adamek was show Thomasz getting embarrassed because he beat up their boy Arreola.

Anyway, Walker was destroying Laipai when the ref hilariously stopped the fight in favor of Laipai Walker can still bang and, if he puts in the work in the gym, the should be a pretty competitive fight.

It should be a pretty good scrap, but HBO probably is going to pick up a main event fight where the America general public isn't familiar with the names. Sucks for boxing fans but its a justifiable business decision.

Guess Adamek is looking to fight Wlad next year, why else should he still be fighting. The Klitschko's adviced him to step down to cw after the Vitali fight but Adamek wants to end his career hw. maybe wlad will be his last fight even

I've seen all Adamek's hw fights and have come to the conclusion: he just isn't that good at hw. He fights too tentatively and he looks like he's unsure of himself half the time. He'll step in the pocket throw some decent punches but then immediately gets out of harm's way instead of following up and pressing the fight. You may call this good defense and generalship but it looks like he misses opportunities more often than not. It seems like it's just too cautious a style for him to have any real success at the weight and it makes for boring a$$ fights...
