Why is it that whenever Hendrix is ever mentioned you get a number of people drawing up lists of "better" guitarists and claiming he's overrated?

i really like his tone, especially when he was with cream. i've never really cared for hendrix' music. he's a fantastic guitar player, but i don't really care for his songs, so it becomes hard for me to appreciate his guitar playing.


hendrix almost certainly accomplished more in guitar playing, and changed it more than clapton, but i still prefer eric clapton over jimi hendrix.
