Junior welterweight contender Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27KOs) has officially announced that he hired Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain to train him for the fight on April 9 against former three division champion Erik Morales (51-6, 35KOs), which takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Beristain is the trainer of WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who was initially set to fight Morales, but later withdrew after a contract dispute with Golden Boy Promotions.

Nice change, though at the age of 27, I don't think that Maidana will be able to change that much in terms of technique. But as long as he sorts his conditioning out so he can go for the full 12rounds then he will be a tough fight for anyone at 140.

Still, picking Morales is a bit of a joke.
