  • Ex Boss Of The Gulf Cartel And Creator Of Los Zetas Sentenced Today to 25 Years

    http://www.statesman.com/news/texas/...rs-278188.html

HOUSTON — Court documents show an extradited Mexican drug kingpin whose case has been shrouded in secrecy has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Osiel Cardenas-Guillen, once the head of the Gulf Cartel, was sentenced Wednesday in Houston federal court during a closed hearing. He pleaded guilty to five counts, including drug charges. In exchange, prosecutors dropped 12 other counts he faced.

Cardenas-Guillen was one of four drug kingpins and about a dozen lesser cartel soldiers who were extradited in 2007 to the United States by Mexican authorities.

U.S. District Judge Hilda Tagle denied a request by the media to open Wednesday's hearing, saying doing so would have possibly placed the drug kingpin in danger.

Cardenas-Guillen's trial was set for last year but it was inexplicably canceled.
BTW, The paramilitary group known as Los Zetas have split from the Gulf Cartel and formed an alliance with The Beltran-Leyva cartel who has their own version of "Los Zetas" called "Los Negros". Los Negros were actually created to battle Los Zetas, but will now be working together.

This has caused The Gulf Cartel to forge an alliance with the Mexican state of Michoacán based "La Familia" which was previously aligned with Los Zetas. Word is that a ****LOAD of muscle from La Familia has moved into the northern border territory of Tamualipas and Nuevo Leon and there is a lot of tension, fear about whats to come. Here's a lil taste of what happened on Feb 10th in Reynosa, MX right across from Hidalgo, Tx.

Indeed, his uncle, the guy before him is serving consecutive life sentences in a super maximum security prison with 24 hour a day lockdown.

The audio from this is insane. Same gun battle, different person recording..

It ain't like it makes a difference, he's probably already been replaced. The zetas will go on with or without him.

Yup, billionaire Joaquín Guzmán Loera is still loose.

Gets seen occasionally where he'll go into a restaurant and pay everyone's bills.
