are all more complete than Pacquiao.

Uh huh........ but you are all discounting offense.
why do people assume a high damaging or punishing type of offense automatically means that the offense is "complete"?

Look at pacquiao for example. His offense can do tons of damage or **** someone up fast, but he also lacks many offensive skills. This makes him far from complete offensively.

Now look at fighters such as Whitaker, Mayweather, Hopkins, Ward, etc, not only are they more complete than pacquiao defensively, there's more to their offensive arsenals. These guys can fight on the inside or all ranges, fight dirty, cut off a ring, etc. An offensive dynamo such as pacquiao on the other hand does not know any of these offensive skills.

Being more offensive does not mean you have a closer to complete offense.

true. although being a specialist in one area sometimes can make up for weakness in other areas- so pacquiao has very fast hands and a fair bit of power combined with a sort of footwork that is difficult to time and deal with, and all this gives him a very strong offence but as you say an incomplete one. his boxing intellect is not too advanced, he doesn't counter punch well etc etc. the more limited to certain things your offence, defence, movement etc is the more predictable you become, as well with some fighters what you have might just not work- so it is important to have a variety of tricks up your sleeve.
