Is the opportunity to beat a multi titled guy in your own division no longer have any value anymore in this effing sport? And they have to demand astronomical sums forgetting that a win will entail far bigger money in their careers?

    This sport is truly f#kd.
Golovkin never actually beat anyone for any of his belts, so "multi-titled guy in your division" is a pretty hollow achievement in terms of accolades for beating Golovkin.

A more interesting bout is what is Golovkin expecting to get for taking the fight in the UK; knowing the way that Golovkin and his camp operate, it's pretty obvious that he's not taking the fight on short money.

So, between the money going to Brook (and was intended for Eubank Jr) and the money going to Golovkin, it'd be reasonable to assume that Golovkin-Brook (or the missed Golovkin-Eubank Jr) is being staged with a downside cost on the event of easily $6m.

I know that Matchroon Sport is officially staging the fight (likely taking the risk), but what is stopping K2 from saying to Frank Warren "here's what it cost Eddie Hearn to bring Golovkin in; if you can pay us this amount, we'll head over and let you have the upside on staging the full unification in the UK on your broadcaster, with you having control of the event"?

Because K2 don't make offers, they only receive them apparently.

brook is moving up two weight classes while jacobs and saunders won't even fight anyone good in their own division, let alone golovkin.

Lemieux picked off the IBF 160 belt after being the #8 challenger, N'Dam seeing challengers #2-#7 pass on the fight, and his promoter going into cahoots with Lemieux's promoter to give Lemieux every advantage possible (Quebecois as referee and 2 of the 3 judges, and most egregiously having the ring shrink by 2' just before the fight), and still barely won 6 rounds.

If you want to count beating that guy as an achievement, that's on you.

Golovkin does nowhere near the business that Floyd did, which is why Floyd was able to basically cashout life-changing money to his opponents and basically write it off as the cost of simply staging the event (On just the gate/closed circuit in Vegas, Floyd likely cleared $20m+ easy).

Golovkin does similar business to Daniel Jacobs (the new lead face of the "Brooklyn Boxing" brand for the Barclays Center) and Billy Joe Saunders (largely based on the payout from BoxNation).

No idea what Saunders' gates looked like in the UK, but "Miracle Man" Daniel Jacobs, between his purse, his sponsors, and the new deal with Barclays Center, is going to end up making more than $2m for his rematch with Sergio Mora.

I was in New York shortly after the Lemieux-Golovkin fight. My bartender said he went to the fight and tickets were going 2 for $25 the week of. He got a lower level seat for $30Loeffler likes to brag GGG sold more tickets at the Garden than Cotto but he'll never compare the gates. So when Loeffler and Co. say he's to big of a star to split 50/50 with Ward, guys are going to ask for the money stars pay out. There's a reason he's never fought in Vegas. Loeffler even tried to sell that lie that it's harder to sell tickets in New York than it is in Vegas. That measly $2 mil dollar gate at MSG will have Casinos in Vegas telling you to go fight at The D Las Vegas. If he's as big a star as his team likes to say he is he wouldn't be travelling to the UK. He wouldn't be playing the B-side to Brook (who isn't even a star in the UK). He wouldn't be fighting on a Matchroom promoted card. And he wouldn't be getting paid in Pounds instead of Dollars. They talk to much and when it comes time to put their money where their mouth is they cry broke.

Was it belt that Lemeuix had or not? You specifically said "Golovkin never actually beat anyone for any of his belts" when clearly I just proved you wrong since he did wim Lemeuix's belt.

I mean, if you want to play that game we can go though all the champions who won belts and discredit any of those belts if their opponent won a vacant title. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Jesus Christ man, we know you don't like Golovkin you've made that clear a long time ago, but this is just ******ed.

Where did I even mention anything about achievements

You stated Golovkin never won a belt by beating someone, I simply proved you wrong. That's it.

Golovkin has three belts. Two he got because ******* ducked him, one he got from beating Lemeuix. Those are the facts. Anything else you're rambling about is irrelevant.
