    I didnt say the rope came undone 4 of them snapped, each little fibre on the rope had "burst", it was not twine.

      ALL Heavy Bags are hung by CHAINS!!! ALL of them!! They need to swing and thats when the rope gets weak! Go to a hardware store and bring the four links from the top of the bag with you. Anyone at the store can help you find a chain (heavier than the bags chain links) and show you how to suspend it. What you attach the chain to is very important. You need a solid beam weither wood or steel but the heavy bags needs to be solidly secured! Ray

          I'm taking from what you said that you're using the bag outdoors and if you're hanging it from a tree then it's a safe bet that there's grass in the garden? You'd be better making an a-frame than hanging it from a tree.

          I've used a tow rope instead of a chain and it works fine.
