Wlifredo Vazquez Jr. prefers to land a direct rematch with WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge Arce, and not a possible WBO eliminator with fellow Puerto Rican Jonathan "Polvo" Oquendo in October. Vazquez's co-promoter, Tutico Zabala, has been in talks with Puerto Rico Best Boxing to stage the eliminator with Oquendo, but he's also trying to get his fighter back in the ring with Arce. Back in May, Arce stopped Vazquez in the twelfth round to capture the WBO title.

I believe he should go for Arce, but only for after a tuneup, but not Oquendo, who he would beat. He needs mental preparation, and better stamina, to the point that w/Arce he must know he'll keep coming and die before he quits to WV2

I strongly disagree. If he challenged Arce for the tile and lost that would be another factor, however he was the champion who lost the title in a good fight. Just like he gave Arce a shot when he was champ the favor should be returned, especially since it's a draw and has all the juicy Puerto Rican vs Mexican thing going for it's self anyway.
