Nonito has had a great run recently, sans Arce, which was pointless
Floyd's a chickenshit, but does take credible fights when he does fight
Floyd-Marquez was bad, but he's done alright otherwise
as of late, Nonito has simply put in more work

"Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds..."

The "cherry picker" title is mostly used by folks that aren't real boxing fans just very immature people out to ridicule and name call. No one has managed to beat the hated Mayweather, so the only course of action is to call him names and make utterly unfounded accusations as to who his competition is and why they were selected. A fighter at Floyd's level simply isn't going to fight anyone, just because a few deranged clowns say he doesn't have the guts. It's all about dollars and cents, and since Floyd doesn't have the killer endorsement deals that some athletes have, he has to be prudent of thought as to whom he fights, their commercial value matters more than anything else.

In a fantasy world, upset fans that don't like other fighters are quickly satisfied with all of the fights they want to see. But here in the real world, businessmen like Bob Arum and Al Hamon have to actually come to an agreement before fighters get in the ring. I realize it isn't as sexy and moronic as saying Floyd's a cherry picker but that's shallow people for ya, pretty easy to please as long as what they're digesting is as shallow as they are.

And still the cherry picker term persists, even though the "tin god" of the disillusioned masses has been permanently dispatched by Marquez. Even so, still do Pacquiao fans cling to any bit of trivia, or attack that they can launch at Mayweather. One thing's all too clear, some people are perfectly comfortable seeing just a fraction of reality and not all of it.

Both top examples of what is wrong with boxing. Leonard said it, yesterday it was about bragging rights, today they fight whoever they want whenever they want to.

a boxer who is not yet a star boxer and is under a promotional company cannot cherry picked an opponent............while a boxer/(part)promoter and popular can choose who he fight. he can even choose to go on vacation.

Floyd in his last 5 fights beat

                      cotto-wba champ #1 at 154
                      ortiz-wbc ww champ #2 ww

Jmm-#2 p4p(same guy who sparked manny out 3 years later)
Hatton-undefeated p4p#8 former wba ww champ

if these 2 are cherry picking then everyone else must be picking rotten cherries
Larry, you do know that 3 of 5 of those guys had a total of 2 fights at WW before facing Floyd?

Floyd just took advantage of people who are not too knowledgeable about the sport and get conned when they hear that the boxer is #2 P4P. That #2 P4P had just moved from 130 to 135 and was asked to move to 144lbs while Floyd also cheated and came in at 146lbs ..... if that is not a cherry pick of the worst kind, then you wouldn't know a cherry pick if it hit you in the face!

Marquez was not prepared to fight at WW. Knowledgeable boxing fans get it but Floyd had to say it to make it believable to the average Joe Shmoe but its ridiculous that Floyd fans are bringing it up on this boxing forum. When pressed, Floyd couldn't defend it anymore and said, "I hadn't fought in a while .... it was a tuneup fight"

Everyone except for his fans knew that Cotto was not going to win. Prior to making the fight, Floyd said he lost badly in his wars and also lost to Clottey and fights too flat-footed and shouldn't fight him because he would get no credit. After signing the contract, Floyd said Cotto is undefeated. lol!
For Floyd, Cotto was just a pay day.

Mosley turned old and Floyd admitted to it prior to the fight ..... Last fight Mosley won was 4 years ago in January 2009. Floyd fought him nearly 1.5 years later ..... Mosley NEVER won another fight .... lost to Floyd, Mora, Manny and Canelo.
